Sata Drive Problems

my Sata Driver for my Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 (500gbs) has a yellow question mark above it and wont detect the hard drive, I pulled apart my External Hard Drive took the hard drive from inside and put it in my computer, it worked but the power stopped going to it when it was external and it has power when its an internal drive but it wount detect it so i need to get either drivers\support on how to make it detect it, if possible without formatting it because i want to get some movies off of it, i have tried updating the drivers, unistalling, downloading various drivers so far none have worked, any help would be awesome to have, im also trying to enlist the help of the local computer tech person and my computer teacher.
